Campus Entrance Project: New Traffic Patterns

Please be aware there are several ongoing fall 2014 construction projects that may impact your travel to and from campus.

UMBC Blvd. and Hilltop Circle

Beginning the week of October 27, 2014, traffic patterns will change significantly on UMBC Blvd. The west (outbound) side will be closed and the east (inbound) side will be converted to support two-way traffic, with one lane entering campus and one lane exiting campus.

To avoid any delays and to mitigate traffic congestion, we encourage the campus community to use alternate routes, such as Hilltop Rd. and Walker Ave. when traveling to and from campus.

Also, to increase safety and maintain flow of traffic during construction, several zone D parking spaces have been removed along Hilltop Circle, adjacent to the UMBC Blvd. intersection. In anticipation of this change, zone D permit parking was expanded along Hilltop Circle in early October.

Admin Drive and Garage

Construction work has now expanded to Admin Drive. The road and walkways will remain open to all pedestrians and vehicles; however, please be aware of detours directing you around the work areas. The loading area behind the RAC will be closed during construction, with a new drop-off area designated nearby.

The new parking area on the east end of the garage, designated as zone E, will be available for use once construction on the new ramp and entrance is completed and the project transitions to the west end.

Please view our construction map for more details about these changes.
