Update on the Campus Entrance Project - December 2014

We are pleased to announce we have reached several milestones in our campus entrance construction project.

Beginning the week of December 22, the new Administration Garage East Lot will open. The new lot, comprised of approximately 60 spaces, is accessed through the gated garage entrance. The new ramp to the top of the garage, located on the east side, as well as the pick-up and drop-off circle for the RAC will also open next week.

As work on the campus entrance project transitions to Administration Drive and the surrounding areas, several changes to vehicle and pedestrian patterns will occur throughout the winter session, extending into spring 2015.
  • Administration Drive will no longer act as a thoroughfare. The drive will only offer access to Admin Garage and the RAC drop-off circle.
  • Several bays on both levels of the west end of the Admin Garage will be closed to parking as we prepare for demolition. The original upper level garage entrance near the campus plaza will close, as well.
  • ADA accessible garage parking will be relocated to the lower level, and an accessible route to campus will be provided.
  • The west end of Administration Drive will be open to service vehicles and deliveries only.
Please view our construction map for more details about these changes.

Work on UMBC Blvd. and Hilltop Circle will continue throughout the winter session, with changes anticipated prior to the spring semester. More information will be provided at that time.

As always, we encourage you to visit the Campus Entrance website and join our myUMBC group to receive news and updates and stay apprised of how construction on this project may impact you.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we continue work on this important project. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
